France, Germany, UK: Speed Cameras Slashed
Vigilantes in Wales and Germany attacked speed cameras last week while anti-camera activities in France returns to a near-daily pace.

German speed camera cut down
A man in Penclawdd, Wales, blinded a speed camera van on Tuesday by holding a large umbrella in a way that blocked the device's lens. In Olpe, Germany, two unidentified vigilantes on Wednesday decapitated the traffic camera on the L512, leaving the head of the device hanging by nearly severed wires, according to the Olpe district police authority.

On Saturday, vigilantes in Sainte-Anne-sur-Brivet, France, torched the speed camera located on the RN165. Around the same time, the speed camera on the N4 in Vitry-le-Francois had its lens covered with a thick coating of white spraypaint. On Friday, the pole-mounted "turret" speed camera on the RD1006 in Saint-Jean-de-Couz was cut down with an angle grinder. On Wednesday, the speed camera on the RN83 in Rennes-sur-Loue was destroyed with a burning tire. On Tuesday, vigilantes in Bourges, France, blinded the speed camera on Boulevard Gambetta with yellow spraypaint.
