UK: MAD Blinds Manchester Speed CameraMotorists Against Detection stops a Manchester, UK camera from issuing its first speeding ticket.
The vigilante group Motorists Against Detection (MAD) last week blinded a newly installed speed camera in Bolton, UK. White paint was used to cover the lens of the device located on Wigan Road in Deane. The group's initials, "MAD," were also spray painted on the camera pole to claim responsibility.
This action is likely to delay ticketing operations that had been scheduled to begin next week on the 30 MPH road.
"It is there to protect the public, not to make money from motorists," Councilor Andy Morgan told the Bolton News.
