UK: Speed Camera Decapitated
Oxfordshire, UK speed camera loses its head.

Officials with the Thames Valley, UK Safer Roads Partnership discovered a headless speed camera last Thursday on the A40 Oxford near Cassington. The camera housing on the ticketing machine had been severed from its mounting pole with a clean cut and dumped in a nearby hedge.

The unit had the ability to distinguish automobiles from heavy trucks and issue tickets to cars driving over 60 MPH and trucks over 40 MPH. Speed camera partnership officials expect the unit will be repaired for £5000-7000 and resume ticketing by the end of the week.
