A speed camera on the A1073 in Cowbit, Lincolnshire was set on fire late Wednesday. In April, a nearby camera was also torched by individuals police described as "idiots."

Pc Paul Stubbings, casualty reduction officer for Cambridgeshire police, said: "We are seeing a rise of supposed vigilantes across the country, who think they are helping motorists out by damaging speed cameras."
