Speed Camera Expands Big Brother Features
Speed cameras expand their function to ticketing cars whose owners are behind on their tax payments.

By spring, speed cameras in Lancashire, UK will begin tracking everyone who passes looking for stolen or "wanted" cars. What constitutes wanted? Cars behind on taxes or insurance payments. Perhaps anyone with an unpaid parking ticket is next. Where does it stop?

Article Excerpt:
The Gatso-style speed cameras will be fitted with technology which checks vehicles' registration plates against the police national computer.

The technology will enable intelligence to be gathered on the whereabouts of stolen or 'wanted' cars and vehicles without tax and insurance.
