France, Germany, Italy: Speed Cameras Bashed
Vigilantes last week took out a handful of European speed cameras.

Damaged German speed camera
Vigilantes in Les Assions, France, on Sunday cut down and torched the pole-mounted "turret" speed camera located on the RD104, marking the fifth time the device has been attacked so far this year. In Voerde, Germany, on June 15, vigilantes blinded the speed camera on Dinslakener Strasse by smashing its lenses, according to Wesel district police. In Miturno, Italy, on Thursday, a van driver slammed on the brakes while approaching the speed camera on the Formia-Garigliano highway, hoping to avoid getting a ticket in the mail. Instead, a following truck slammed into the van, sending the occupants of both vehicles to Dono Svizzero hospital in Formia.
