Delaware: Cop Crashes After Getting Drunk at Police Party
Ocean City, Maryland police throw a Christmas party that causes one of their own officers to crash while drunk.

Wilbur Smith Jesson
An Ocean City, Maryland police officer was fired yesterday after he crashed his car driving home drunk from a police Christmas party last week. Rookie cop Wilbur Smith Jesson was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) after he ran off the road and crashed on US 113 in Delaware on December 12 at 1am. The Fraternal Order of Police threw the bash at a Delaware restaurant.

"We hold our officers to a higher standard when it comes to this kind of behavior and decision making," Police Chief Bernadette DiPino told the Salisbury Daily Times. "I'm very disappointed in the choice he made,"

Jesson lives in Ocean Pines and received a "class leadership award" in his first year on the force.
