New Haven, Connecticut: Free Parking for Hybrids
Hybrid cars will not have to pay for metered parking in New Haven, Connecticut.

Toyota PriusOwners of hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles will not have to feed the parking meters in New Haven, Connecticut. The city joins San Jose, California; Los Angeles, California; and Albuquerque, New Mexico in offering this benefit.

New Haven's Mayor John DeStefano said the ordinance will help public health by reducing automobile emissions. About thirty cars in the city currently would be eligible for the hybrid free parking decal when it becomes available later this month.
