1/7/2005Cincinnati Camera Revenue Estimate Up 600%
Estimates for the revenue produced by Cincinnati speed cameras has jumped from $2 million to $12 million.
Instead of the $2 million in revenue Cincinnati leaders predicted last year, speed cameras in the city of Cincinnati are now expected to bring in $12 million. This substantially larger, new estimate predicts 10,000 tickets will be issued every month.
A study by Cincinnati police tested them at nine locations, targeting drivers going ten miles an hour over the speed limit.

Now, estimates show the cameras will catch about 10,000 speeders each month, totalling about $12 million in fines every year.
