7/20/2005Tempe, AZ Police Chief Wants to Dump Photo Radar
Tempe, Arizona police chief says photo radar isn't worth keeping.
The police chief in one of the first US cities to adopt photo radar, Tempe, Arizona, wants to dump the program. Tempe began using red light and speed cameras in 1997 just months after Paradise Valley introduced the technology to the state.
Now Tempe Police Chief Ralph Tranter says it's not worth it to replace the aging photo radar system with new technology and that it's better to just scrap the system entirely.
