1/4/2008Austria: Speed Camera Toppled
Teenagers are caught and fined for cutting down and burying a speed camera in Lustenau, Austria.
A pair of nineteen year old motorists used axes and a saw to topple a speed camera in Lustenau, Austria. Peter Hochstacher and Thomas Moebel then buried the camera unit in a nearby field. Unfortunately for them, a farmer tending his land discovered the device and turned it over to police. Photographs stored within the camera were used to track down the teenagers. A court fined the teens nearly 100,000 Euros (US $150,000).
