France, Italy: Speed Cameras Spraypainted
Speed cameras are painted white in Italy and France this week.

Blinded speed camera in Italy
In Toulouse, France, vigilantes last week covered the lenses of a speed camera with white spraypaint. The automated ticketing machine on the ring road before the Pont-Jumeaux exit was also sprayed with the message "R$," La Depeche reported.

White spraypaint was also the weapon of choice for vigilantes in Baone, Italy who blinded a speed camera on Friday. The device on Provincial Road 21 toward Rivaldolmo happened to be empty at the time and was not issuing tickets, according to Il Mattino di Padova. A similar incident a month and a half ago cost 2500 euros (US $3350) to repair.
