UK: Surrey Speed Camera Scorched
A Surrey, UK speed camera is destroyed by fire.

A speed camera in Surrey, UK was destroyed by fire at 3:20am on December 30. The device had issued tickets on the A217 Brighton Road near Burgh Wood. To avoid lost revenue, Surrey Speed Camera Partnership Project Manager Duncan Knox said he would rush to install a replacement camera and take measures in the meantime to boost ticketing.

"We will be scheduling our mobile units to undertake regular enforcement at this site," Knox said.
