Baltimore Cops End Quota System
Baltimore, Maryland has ended its quota-like performance evaluation system.
The city of Baltimore, Maryland ended a controversial performance evaluation system for police officers on Friday. The system had the same effect as a quota by punishing officers who failed to issue enough tickets or make enough arrests.
The move was made after a meeting between city council members and police officials. Baltimore's police Commissioner Leonard Hamm agreed to take 30 days to come up with recommendations on how to evaluate officers.
