Greenville North Carolina Puts Hold on Camera System
Greenville, North Carolina suspends implementation of its new red light camera system pending the outcome of a key court case.

Greenville North CarolinaFaced with a Guilford County, North Carolina court ruling that found red light camera systems violated the state constitution, Greenville has decided not to begin issuing tickets with its new system. A judge is expected to rule on how much money for the camera systems can go to "administrative costs". In one case, that amount was set at 10 percent. This is a problem for Greenville whose contract specifies 64 to 94 percent of income will go to Redflex, an Australian camera contractor.
