10/3/2016France, Germany: Speed Cameras Spraypainted
In Germany and France, spraypaint in a multitude of colors is used to stop speed cameras from issuing tickets.
Vigilantes in Rolofshagen, Germany took out a speed camera by covering its lenses with white spraypaint last week. According to Gadebusch-Rehnaer Zeitung this is the second time in five weeks that a camera in the area has been disabled.
In Crecy-sur-Serre, France, vigilantes disabled the speed camera on the RN2 with red spraypaint, L'Union reported. It was the third camera taken out in the area in the past ten days. Blue was the color of choice in Kervignac, where the camera on the RD781 was disabled for the fifth time, according to Le Telegramme. The same device has been set on fire and painted orange, pink and white in the past. White spraypaint was also used on the RD2007 in Pressigny-les-Pins last week, La Republique reported.
