In April, a camera on Duley Station Road in Upper Marlboro was shot. Later that month, the mobile automated ticketing machine on Harry S. Truman Drive was knocked over. In May, one of the legs of a camera on Brightseat Road was severed. In July, the camera on Race Track Road was set on fire.

Vigilantes set fire to a speed camera in the United Arab Emirates on September 4, according to Emirates 24/7. The camera was located on Galila road in Ras Al Khaimah and had recently been attacked once before, bringing to five the total number of devices destroyed in the emirate this year.

Officials in Wallonia, Belgium thwarted themselves by trying to hide a speed camera behind a tree. RTL reported the automated ticketing machine on the A54 near Charleroi no longer functions because overgrown trees are blocking its view. Those in charge of the camera blame the public services department responsible for trimming.
