Sebastien Dufour, an attorney in Paris representing French motorists, posted a copy of a speed camera ticket on Tuesday that proved no human had reviewed the citation before it was issued. The image on the official notice showed a white Renault Alpine A110 sports car with its license plate clearly visible, and the accompanying letter accused the vehicle of exceeding the 70km/h (43 MPH) speed limit on Avenue de la Porte du Pre Saint-Gervais by 9km/h (5 MPH) on March 12. The problem for officials was that the speed camera photograph also clearly shows the Alpine was strapped down in the back of a flatbed tow truck at the time.

In Saint-Martin-de-Seignanx, the pole-mounted "turret" speed camera on the RD74 was cut down with an angle grinder on Sunday, May 15. Vigilantes on Reunion, an island in East Africa, torched the turret speed camera on the Route de l'Eperon in St Paul on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, vigilantes in Budelsdorf, Germany, sprayed black paint over the lens of the speed camera on Hollerstrasse.
