Hewlett Packard Embraces Mid East Speed Cameras
Hewlett Packard has paid for the rights to put its corporate logo on speed cameras in Dubai, UAE.

HP Speed CameraBright orange Hewlett Packard logos adorning speed cameras in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai will "put a smile, not a frown on drivers' faces," according to Sherifa Hady, HP's marketing manager in the Middle East. As part of the "Drive Safely" program, HP has purchased the rights to brand the city's network of twenty speed cameras with its own logo.

Passing motorists will also see slogans like "Drive Safely" on the cameras written in both English and Arabic. "Having such a slogan posted atop speed cameras will remind and restrain them in the friendliest of ways," Hady said. The cameras issue tickets carrying a maximum penalty of 3,000 dirhams (US $816) and six months imprisonment.
