France, Italy: Acts Of God, Spraypaint Disables Cameras
Unpopular Italian speed camera destroyed by lightning. French radars are disabled with spraypaint.

Red spraypainted speed cameraAn act of God took out the speed camera on the highway between Lecce and Novoli, Italy, less than a month after it had been installed. Repubblica Bari reported that the deeply unpopular device had sparked a petition to the local government demanding an increase in the speed limit. The camera was carefully positioned in a short stretch where the limit is lowered from 50 km/h (31 MPH) to 40 km/h (25 MPH).

In Roppe, France, vigilantes last week covered the speed camera's lenses with orange spraypaint, according to Est Republicain. In Laon, red was the color of choice to disable the speed camera on the RN2 on Saturday, L'Union reported.
