France, Germany, Italy, UK : Fires, Explosions Disable Traffic Cameras
Speed cameras throughout Europe are attacked by vigilantes.

Burned French speed cameraVigilantes in La Chaussee-Saint-Victor, France rang in New Year's Eve by setting fire to a speed camera at around 2:30am. According to La Nouvelle Republique, a burning tire was used to completely destroy the device.

In Laurencekirk, Scotland, vigilantes set fire to a speed camera on the A90 on December 17. The automated ticketing machine has not been replaced, The Courier reported. What remains of the scorched camera is covered by an orange hood bearing the phrase, "not in use."

A speed camera box in Spinea, Italy was blown up at around 3:30am on Tuesday. According to Venezia Today, the camera housing on the Via Fornase was empty at the time of the explosion.

In Lueneburg, Germany on Tuesday a 65-year old man attempted to disable a speed camera by covering it up. Police noticed the man with mask, gloves and a ladder standing by the automated ticketing machine in Amelinghausen before he could complete his mission, Die Welt reported.
