4/8/2012Germany, Latvia: Speed Cameras Disabled
Vigilantes use trash bags and paint to temporarily disable speed cameras in Germany and Latvia.
In Riga, Latvia a mobile photo radar van was parked on Daugavgrivas Street last Sunday. According to Delfi, a passing pedestrian dumped white yogurt across the back of the van, preventing it from issuing tickets until the van's driver cleaned the windows.
In Wiesbaden, Germany vigilantes covered a speed camera on Mainzer Street with a black plastic garbage bag and secured it with duct tape, Wiesbadener Tagblatt reported.
