Cameras Burn in Italy, Opposed by Majority in France
Italian vigilantes burn a pair of speed cameras while French public rejects new automated ticketing machines.

In Asiago, Italy a vigilante set fire to a pair of speed camera poles Wednesday night, according to Corriere Del Vento. The devices on Via Verdi and Via dei Patrioti were not active at the time of the attack.

A majority in France oppose the use of speed cameras, Europe 1 reported. A survey conducted between December 6 and 8 found that 64 percent of those asked opposed the installation of 400 additional automated ticketing machines. The poll found 36 were "very" opposed to the use of cameras. In rural areas, strong opposition grew to 45 percent with 74 percent opposed overall.
