France, Saudi Arabia: Speed Cameras Painted, Voted Down

Vigilantes struck back against a speed camera in Auvergne, France on Thursday. The automated ticketing machine on the D586 in Saint-Beauzire was partially covered in white paint, rendering it useless, according to Zoomdici.fr.

On Monday, officials for the General Directorate of Traffic in Saudi Arabia took down an online poll seeking the view of residents on the "Saher" speed camera system. With 152,000 responses recorded, the government became embarrassed that 75 percent opposed the use of automated ticketing machines, compared to just 24 percent who supported it. One percent selected the "undecided" option, Arabian Business reported.
