Australia: Vigilante Frightens Speed Camera Operator
A man in Western Australia nearly rams a speed trap as a form of protest against speed cameras.

Holden CommodoreA mobile speed camera operator in Western Australia was frightened by a vigilante yesterday morning. According to the operator, a man drove a Holden Commodore directly at a speed trap set up on the Reid Highway near West Swan Road in Perth.

"When the vehicle was 20 meters (65 feet) away it veered sharply to the left in the direction of the operator who managed to jump out of the way and the Commodore missed him by about a meter," the police account stated.

Police failed to obtain sufficient information to identify the vehicle or its driver but are continuing the search.
