Fuel Pressure Gauge KitThe AutoMeter Phantom gauges look great in the stock Subaru gauge pod housing (although the housing requires a bit of Dremel work to get them to fit). The Phantom series are white-faced gauges with green backlighting that match the MY99+ gauges fairly well. I don't care that they don't match my MY98 dash.

The mechanical boost/vacuum gauge is the only one that disappoints. At certain engine loads, the needle can bounce around a bit. It might be accurate, but it looks cheap. The fuel pressure and EGT gauges provide rock-solid readings. Strangely, the fuel pressure gauge will zoom to the 100psi mark when the engine shuts down. I'm not sure why.

The JumpTronix O2 sensor and voltmeter is a nifty little device that tells you what your air/fuel ratio is under WOT. Flip a switch on the back of the unit, and the unit becomes a voltmeter.

The basline readings below were taken on my MY98 car with a completely stock engine (at about 31,000 miles).

Exhaust Gas Temperature

The magic EGT is 1400 degrees Farenheit. That's where the car seems to enjoy staying during 60-80mph cruise. Even during WOT blasts up to 100mph, it doesn't go over 1450.

At 55mph, the car will range between 1300 and 1400 degrees. Warm idle is 800. Please note that when it is very cold out, the EGT will read about 50-100F higher. See the TEC Forum FAQ for more info on why this is the case.

Fuel Pressure
Fuel Pressure
The gauge reads between 23psi at idle to 38psi at WOT.

O2 Sensor Voltage

Jumptronix When starting the car cold, the O2 sensor will read .22v for about 24 seconds. Then the reading will quickly rise in .01v increments up to about .64v. Once it reaches that point, the reading will bounce around randomly.

When the car is moving at low speed and not fully warmed up, the O2 sensor will read in the .90-.99v range when floored.

At cruising WOT, the sensor will pick a number between .85 and .88v and stay there.

Part numbers for the AutoMeter Phantom series gauges:

Boost 5703
Fuel Pressure 5763
EGT 5765
Competition EGT Sender 5243
